DESCRIPTION:  A lovely, all original knit lace practical or day bonnet. Variations of the practical bonnet were worn by both women and young girls. Knit lace patterns include diamonds, bands and there is a pretty floral motif to the bonnet's back. A feminine ruffle surrounds the face. Original chin ties.  7 1/2" from back to front; 9 1/2" from chin to top; each chin tie 12"L and about 7/8" wide. Charming!
MARKS: No labels; handmade.
AGE: c1820-40
CONDITION: In lovely condition, without a flaw. 

**This sort of bonnet was worn in pre-Victorian and early Victorian days and was an important part of the wardrobe.
