A fine example of an exquisite piece of Georgian (1760-1820) jewellery
Watercolour
on natural material, the portrait sits within a thin rim of at least
9ct rose gold (tested), which is further accented with a wider border
of sterling silver. This silver has a very attractive cut out design
which lends itself so well to the piece. Grey split pearls form the
ultimate decorative border.
No glass present
The rear shows the original barrel hinge and 'c' clasp - all in good condition
There are also push down sterling silver claws which hold the portrait in place.
Not hallmarked as was common during this period, but the metals are silver and gold
